The appearance of 'boss' characters and objectives that can change suddenly-like rushing to the defence of an overwhelmed ally-try their best to break up the slog, but there isn't really that much to do. Battles can go on for as long as an hour, with the 'KO' counter at the bottom-right of the screen ticking up into the thousands. Your limited pool of abilities and moves is stretched far too thin. It's basically an elaborate game of rock, paper, scissors.īut one criticism of Dynasty Warriors I think is entirely justified is how repetitive it is. If you're facing an opponent with an affinity that clashes with your own, you'll be at a disadvantage and find it difficult to break their guard, but switch weapons mid-fight to a stronger affinity and you'll be able to strike them with a flurry of unstoppable attacks. Now each time you enter a state of game where you have a control of a character (Into camp, into battle, between camp and battle) make sure you run on 1 core and each time in battle set cores to all.Your weapons have one of three affinities-Heaven, Earth, or Man-and so do enemies. When in menu get back to Task manager and set affinity to single (Core 0) core. Finaly after each battle there is always Battle-to-menu transition which has no issues on any amount of cores. Go through all the things you need to do, select characters missions etc etc and launch the battle, when you are in the battle many people experience horrible lag/slow-motion due to running on a single core, NOW you can go to the task manager and "Set Affinity" to run on all cores. SOLUTION - What works for me is launching game under Win98 compatibility setting the game to WINDOWED MODE (this is important as tabbing out of the game will likely cause a crash and it doesnt allow tabbing out in battle) and then launching the Task Manager.

Truth is game simply gets condused on Menu-to-Battle switch and freezes. I was fiddling around with the game and all sorts of options and as i see its nothing to do with compatibility it all comes down to Multi-core processing and Win98 sets core amount to 1 automaticaly. Let me tell you why some people say for it works on Win7 compatibility some say it only properly works on Win98 etc etc.
